you're here hey good morning good morning everyone you're

doing good out there boy

yeah it's 45 hey good to have you welcome

to our online people everybody say hey hey hey these are

the most wonderful people in the world that are here today and I haven't met half of you

I can just tell you're great well I'm

going to talk about some things I think I hope will

you today, we're going to read the Bible. Anybody knows what that is, right? Because

I believe it's

one of the most powerful things we can do. I want to encourage you if you have a way to bring one

or have it on your phone, new version, that's the way that you can kind of follow along. I would

encourage you to do that because I think it will transform you if

you allow it, okay? Somebody

asked me the other day, they said, Brian, what are you thinking?

thinking, why are you speaking at 645 in a warehouse? And

I said, well, Eric buys me

breakfast. It's true. It's really good, too. But for me,

I got thinking about that. You

know, God's faithfulness to me, I would say that's the good Christian answer.

But really,

for me, I experienced something that I have to tell you

about.

I experienced the presence and the power of God in my life.

And not because I've been doing this for a long time.

In fact, I didn't experience that truly until a few years ago.

I didn't really understand the love of God really until last year.

And I've been preaching 30 years.

I've been saying it, but I haven't been understanding and living it the way I thought.

or the way I needed to live it, let me say it that way.

So I'm gonna share with you some things today

that maybe you're in that place I was,

maybe you're empty, maybe you're doubting.

I'm sure somebody in this room today is like,

I don't get any of this,

I don't even know why we're doing this,

I don't really care.

You know, I get that feeling.

You know, I understand that lack of understanding.

And so let's pray, and we're going to dive in.

Father, we love you.

I pray today that you would break open our hearts.

That those in here today that maybe are skeptical or maybe just

are tired

and just don't want to hear it, that you would open their hearts.

Let them be willing to listen to what you have to say today,

because it's you that's speaking, not me.

This is all yours.

We give it to you in Jesus' name.

How many love soccer in here?

Not many Americans, right?

World Cup?

Okay.

I like football.

Okay, I do.

Soccer, I try.

I can't seem to do it, but God's working on me.

And so what I've been watching is the World Cup.

European visits to our restaurants to our to our Walmarts

and I've been

watching these people from Germany and Scotland they walk in and they're amazed

that we have a stack of beans and they can buy buy

the crate you know and they

have Waffle House and they they just seem so amazed that this

is possible and

what they had learned

us was that America's dirty they're mean they're no good they're

disappointing and what they're

finding out that that's not true in fact there's a story a guy named Sebastian

Krause he's from

Germany and he went to a soccer game and he came out and they couldn't find

an uber they couldn't

find a ride so this guy Bob drove up and said get in my car I'll give you a ride I'm

not sure I'd

got in the car we bought

i don't know about you but he gives them a ride takes them back to their place

takes care of them

feeds them and sebastian was saying that it it just

messed with him so much he couldn't stop

crying without talking about it because then it was an experience in his life that

welcoming

experience that warm love that it had nothing to do with soccer germany

lost he didn't care he was

he had to leave. That experience is what God brings us. That

experience is what Jesus brings us.

And something Jesus does, I promise you, we're going to read about, he would

have went viral on

YouTube. It had been more about him than the party because

of what he does. So I'm going to read some

stuff to you in the Bible in John chapter 2.

I'm gonna find it here. John chapter 2, verse 1 through 11. It's

a really great story. Jesus

turns water into wine. We all love wine, right? Oh, wrong question. Everybody's

raising their

hand on wine if you didn't know that. Anyway, here's

what he says. On the third day, a wedding

took place at Cana, Galilee. Jesus' mother was there.

And Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding.

I want you to know something about this.

This first century wedding lasted seven days.

Can you imagine going to a wedding for seven days?

We want 20-minute ceremony.

Get me to the reception.

Give me some cake and I'm out of here.

Home by nine.

Say I do quickly so I can get home.

All we care about is the food.

We love you and everything.

But Jesus...

Jesus, the Son of God, committed to seven days to this family.

I thought that was amazing.

And as He was attending, I thought about this too.

As He was invited, you should say, He was invited by this family.

And they're going through the guest list if you think about it.

You know how you go through the guest list.

Who are we going to invite?

Let's invite Jesus and His disciples.

The interesting thing about...

that is Jesus had not done anything he had not committed a miracle one miracle

yet so basically they're inviting him because he's a great guy let's invite

you they they could probably bring some life to the party Jesus right yeah this

is a great guy a great group of people they had no idea he was the son of God

and they were inviting him they were welcoming him in I thought that was

that was fascinating and when the wine was gone Jesus said to them

them, or Jesus' mother said to them, they have no more wine. How many of

you know it's not who you

know, or not what you know, but who you know that makes the difference? Mary

knew something nobody

else did. She knew that Jesus was the Son of God, because

she'd have seen a miracle 30 years earlier.

She'd seen an angel come to her and say, guess what, you're going to have the Son of God.

And so she did.

and she knew that Jesus was a miracle worker

she knew he was the son of God

and she was impatient I would say

can you do something

and I think it's the best piece of advice

you'll read in the bible

she says when the wine was gone

Jesus' mother said to him

they have no wine

and Jesus said this

woman why are you involved me in this

if you tried that with your wife lately

woman but if you look at the greek if you really look at the context he was really it was out of

respect it's just we read it that way yeah because here's

the deal about that when jesus performs

this first miracle the countdown is on that's how important this is and i don't think

a lot of us

realize that this first miracle was not just him doing a miracle it set

the pace it set the countdown

for his death

So the minute He says, I'm turning water into wine, it's on.

My next step is crucifixion.

That's coming.

My death is coming.

And He knew that, and that was important to Him.

But she said to them, here's what she said.

She said to the servants, do whatever He tells you to do.

The best advice in the Bible I can give you this morning

is do whatever Jesus tells you to do.

And some of you are looking at me like,

Well, what is that?

I don't know what that is.

Get a Bible.

Get your Bible.

There's a lot of words of Jesus in the Bible.

Read the red part.

That's how you know.

It's that simple.

And I'm going to tell you the rest of the story.

It just gets so much better.

Nearby stood six stone water jars,

the kind used for Jews for the ceremonial washing,

each holding from 20 to 30 gallons.

Jesus said,

to the servants fill the jars with water okay

ceremonial washing think about it this way we

have a tank of water right here and when you guys come in you wash your hands in it before you come

in here you wash all the dirt off you wash if you think about it first century there's a lot of dirt

i can't imagine what it smelled like so jesus says take the dirtiest water

you can find get that get

the dirtiest water you

can find bring that bucket over here and i'm going to do something with it i just think that's

amazing and he goes on to say this

is good fill it to the brim as far as you can fill

all the way to

the top then he told them now draw some imagine taking a cup solo

cup i don't know any kind of

cup and dipping that water in there and taking it to the master

of the banquet the servant when i'm handing you that i know where this came

from okay i know that

you just washed your hands in that and this is what i'm going to give to them yes jesus

said

give that to them because it goes on to say the master of the banquet

he did not realize where it

came from though the servants had drawn the water they knew they

knew exactly where the water came

and he hands it to them and I thought about this when did the water turn to wine

that's a good question when the masters make it went like this boom

and he says this

then the king then I called the bride room aside and said everyone brings out the choice wine

when the cheaper wine is gone other guests have had too much

to drink but you have saved the best

till now when he tasted the wine

that Jesus gave. When he tasted the cup that Jesus filled, it

changed his life. The experience,

once again, when you experience God, when you taste true God, true

love, that experience of

Jesus in your life, when you actually experience that for the first time, it

will change you.

It will make something happen in your heart and your life.

some of us are living our lives can't we can't wait to

experience that and it

might be right in front of us it might be the water right in front of us we

just won't taste it some of us need to do that I'm gonna share something with

you I love this guy he said this sometimes God lets you run out in

your

life so you'll run to him I

speak from experience

God let me run out to the point I

was like that bucket. Dirty. Empty. You

put anything

in me and it's going to get bad. It's going to get spoiled because I was bitter. I was

mad. I was angry. I still struggle with it. Because

I had believed for all my life that

this is the way God was.

and god's saying that's not the way i am this is the way i am i'm not doing

something old i'm doing

something new and i want you in on it but you got to be willing to

let me fill you up i'll tell you

a quick story um i said this

a couple weeks ago i want to say it again because i feel like

some of you need to hear this my testimony i'm not going to give the whole hour

and a half of it

much you want but i'm kidding again it's a rain day it's a rain day we got time

but i had lost

everything in my life i had lost well god bless me with some

things but i'm going to say i lost

my job i lost my church i lost my friends hurricane

helene came along i lost my house

and then my wife had cancer

that year that's all in the year and I'm going okay

okay God you want to play come on that's

where I was screaming at the heavens saying you want some of this I'll

give you 30 years and what

the hell right that's the way I felt in my heart I was angry

I was mad and I know better because

how I'm a preacher

you're a preacher you should know better than that Brian right

you read your Bible you pray you can't feel this way

what's wrong with you I thought there was something well there was something

wrong with me I was messed up I was broken I was

dirty as I could be

and so I always wanted to do this I always want to go to the

Coldplay concert it's one of my dreams I love to play piano

if you don't know that I love piano and my wife and daughter

surprised me with a trip to Nashville

so I got to go see Coldplay 80 degree weather in

Nashville one night

it was amazing truly amazing but I still was like

I hate everything I just look at you I hate you I don't even know why

I just hated everybody.

You know what I'm saying?

You identify with that?

I know you hate people.

And I'm in that concert, and they start singing this song, Fix You,

which has been one of the songs I've played and heard a lot.

And the words are like, when you try your best, but you don't succeed.

When you get what you want, but not what you need.

when you feel so tired but you just can't sleep stuck in reverse that

was me i was going the

wrong direction and in a concert of 78 000

people when we raised our hands we had little lights on

them and i saw the lights go up it's like god whispered to me

in that moment he says

i got you i'm with you i've never

left you

I just need you to know that.

It was just a small thing in my heart.

The first time my heart in years had felt anything.

Wow.

And God began to change me there.

He began to fill my cup.

He began to bring new wine into my life.

It began to change me in a way I never thought possible.

I thought I knew everything.

I said the prayer itself.

I've read my Bible. I'm preaching to you every Tuesday morning. Look at me, God.

God said,

you're missing the point. I love you more

than anything that you do. It has nothing to do with

that. I will never love you any more than I do right now. And

that's what God's saying to you

today. Some of you need to know where

you are, how dirty you may be, whatever you've done, it

really doesn't matter. When Jesus

shows up to the party, that changes. But we have to invite him. We

have to open our hands

and our hearts and say, Jesus, come in. Do something in our lives. Maybe you need to

do that. Maybe right here in a warehouse is

the place you need to invite Christ in your

But I'm going to give you a chance to do that.

I want you to bow your heads, and then we'll be done.

I know watching online or whoever in this room, somebody in here, I

know God is speaking to you.

Not because of me, but because of Him.

Because His Spirit is way more powerful than

my words.

He can do so much more in your life.

And maybe you need to accept Christ today.

Maybe you need to start that journey

and start drinking the new wine.

And so I'm going to give you a chance to do that.

If you'd like to accept Christ today,

it's very simple.

I'm going to say a prayer.

You can just say it to yourself.

It's that simple.

So just say this with me.

Say, Dear Jesus.

Dear Jesus.

I know I'm a sinner.

And I need a Savior.

I believe that you died on the cross.

And you rose from the grave to pay for my sins.

And right now, Jesus, I ask you to come into my heart and change me.

Make me a new person.

If you prayed that today, I want you to know something.

It's the best decision you ever made.

I'm here.

here. We're down here if you want to talk

about it. If you want to text or you want to

talk about it later in the day.

Or if you're watching online and you want to comment,

let us know. Because it is the

most incredible thing you can do

for your life today is start with Jesus.

Let Him do that for you.

Father, we thank you for today.

I know you did

some work in the hearts and lives of people

today. I pray you

begin that work.

right now just begin to change us to make us into who you have designed

us to be

and we love you we thank you in Jesus name and everybody said amen amen

thank you guys oh

by the way if you need a Bible Eric's gonna give you one sweet

if you don't have a Bible we're gonna give them away is that good yeah

we'll give you a new one let me explain we'll give you a new Bible the new one

a new wine Bible yeah
